Aluminium peroxide

When excess of 30 per cent, hydrogen peroxide is added to a solution of aluminium hydroxide in 50 per cent, potassium hydroxide, a white, amorphous precipitate is obtained, of the composition Al2O3.Al2O4.10H2O, which reacts as a true peroxide. Possibly an initial product Al2O4 is formed and partly decomposed by the water.
