Aluminium selenide, Al₂Se₃

Aluminium selenide, Al₂Se₃, may be prepared from its elements as described for the sulphide; or by reducing lead sulphate by means of aluminium. It is a greyish-yellow solid of density 3.437, and is readily decomposed by water with the evolution of hydrogen selenide.
